How do I report to the college about possibly being affected by COVID-19?

Please complete the WCJC COVID-19 Student/Visitor Self Reporting Form.  You will be contacted by the Dean of Student Success regarding your quarantine requirements.


In what instances do I need to complete a Self-Reporting Form?

Any employee, student, or visitor, whether working on-campus or in a remote capacity, must immediately (within 24 hours) self-report to the college for any of the following conditions:

  1. Experience new or worsening symptoms associated with COVID-19;
  2. Believe that they were exposed to someone with COVID-19;
  3. Received a confirmed positive test, are diagnosed with, or being treated for COVID-19;
  4. Were tested for COVID-19 and are awaiting results of the test;
  5. Are providing care to or residing with a family member who has been diagnosed with, is experiencing symptoms, or has been tested for COVID-19; and/or
  6. Has traveled internationally, on a cruise, or to any locations identified in the Governor’s Executive Orders.


What signs and symptoms should I look for related to COVID-19? 

Students are encouraged to self-screen for new or worsening symptoms every day prior to coming to campus using the WCJC COVID-19 Screening Questionnaire. Students are not required to complete or submit this form.


Course Related Information

How do I access my courses in Blackboard?

Blackboard can be accessed from the WCJC homepage or by downloading the Blackboard mobile app.  A Student Tutorial is available for students to learn how to navigate the system.  Student Resources are also available to provide support for distance learning.

Students must log in to Blackboard on the first day of class!


What does the college recommend regarding computer and internet access for Fall 2020?

All students enrolled for Fall 2020 are highly encouraged to have a reliable computer with an external or built-in webcam. Additional distance education recommendations can be found on our DE Student Resources page.

Fall 2020 course offerings are subject to change, including during the semester depending on federal or state requirements and guidelines. Students are encouraged to check their WCJC Student Email regularly for updates.


What if I do not have a computer or internet service?

Please notify your instructor immediately regarding any technological limitations you may face. On-campus open computer labs are available to students on an appointment basis.


How do I set up my WCJC Student Email account?

Set up your WCJC student email. If you have trouble setting up your WCJC email, submit anIT Helpdesk ticket.


What library resources are available?

Students, whether on campus or remote, always have access to our full range of electronic Library Resources.


Will the WCJC Testing Centers continue to administer tests throughout the Fall semester?

Yes! Contact us to schedule an appointment.


Installment Plans

Do I still have the opportunity to set up an installment plan for Fall 2020?

Yes! Installment plans are available to help make college more affordable!


Residence Halls

Will residence halls be open?

Residence halls will be available only to student athletes and fine arts majors. 


Student Support Services

Are WCJC Student Services still available?

Yes!  All WCJC Student Service Offices are available to serve you in a remote capacity.  Please contact us with any questions or concerns.

Coronavirus Prevention and Health

Where can I learn more about best practices in dealing with the COVID-19?

WCJC recommends you visit the CDC website for information on prevention, mitigation, and what to do if you experience symptoms associated with COVID-19.


Coronavirus Prevention Tips

There is currently no vaccine to prevent Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19).  The best way to prevent illness is to avoid being exposed to the virus.  The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention always recommends everyday preventative actions to help prevent the spread of all respiratory diseases, including:

  • Washing your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom, before eating, after blowing your nose, coughing or sneezing.
    • If soap and water are not readily available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.  Always wash hands with soap and water if hands are visibly dirty
  • Wearing a face mask or cloth face covering.  Use of face coverings is now required in all indoor public areas on all WCJC campuses and facilities.

  • Maintaining a minimum of 6 feet of distance from those around you to allow for social distancing.

  • Covering your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throwing the tissue in the trash.

  • Cleaning and disinfecting frequently touched objects and surfaces using a regular household cleaning spray or wipe.

  • Avoiding touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.

  • Staying home when you are sick and avoiding contact with others who are sick.

If you are exhibiting symptoms consistent with COVID-19, or meet any of the criteria identified here, you must immediately self-report using the WCJC COVID-19 Employee Self-Reporting Form or WCJC COVID-19 Student/Visitor Self-Reporting Form.


Is the Wharton campus Mid Coast CampusCare Clinic open?

No, the clinic is not open at this time.
